During the first ten days of November, 1914, the 5th Dragoon Guards of 1 Cavalry Brigade, Cavalry Division, were in trenches near Wulverghem, close to Messines and coming under fire on a daily basis. George Gibbs died from wounds on 10th November, the day on which 5th Dragoon Guards were relieved and moved back to St Jans Cappel, but it is not known when he was wounded. |
